Our award winning professional photography guides are widely recognised as some of the most experienced and successful photographers in the UK today.

We’re based on Skye not by chance, but because we believe it to offer the best opportunities for landscape and wildlife photography all year round.

Catering for all levels of abilities and fitness, we know our island better than anyone else, so we’ll keep you away from the crowds and the clichés. We never forget that our customers are on holiday, so as well as helping you improve your photography skills and capturing images to be proud of, we’ll ensure you have a good time in the process.

Marcus McAdam has been a professional photographer for over 15 years. He’s lived and worked all over the world, most notably in China and Italy as a travel photographer.

“I spend much of my year travelling to all corners of the planet to visit truly world class locations. Every time I return to Skye I realise that the island I call home is also world class in terms of photographic potential. It’s no wonder people travel so far to see it with their eyes and we’re here to help them capture it through their lens."

Nick Hanson
  • Pro - 12 years
  • An award winning Landscape Photographer of the Year
  • Guide for all levels of landscape services

Nick Hanson was awarded the titles Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2015 and 2016.

Highly technical and with a keen creative eye, Nick has a real talent for passing on knowledge in a clear and concise way, which is consistently praised by his customers.

“Despite the amazing diversity of Skye with all its amazing places to explore and photograph, I am continuously drawn to the Trotternish Ridge. The area has so many compositional possibilities and I love witnessing how the morning light interacts with this unique volcanic landscape. It’s not difficult to take a good photo here, but to take a great photo you need to understand its character and capture this rather than the subject itself.”

Harry Martin
  • Pro - 7 years
  • Awards - Scottish Nature Photography Awards winner 2016
  • Guide for all wildlife services most landscape services

Harry Martin is a zoologist and award winning nature photographer. He is most at home when out in the wilderness, either shooting landscapes or wildlife subjects. As long as it's wild, Harry is happy.

Harry previously was a guide in the Canadian Rockies and the Scottish Cairngorms; he joined the Skye Photo Academy in 2015 and hasn’t looked back.

“Skye itself is a fascinating place, full of great wildlife subjects and stunning landscapes. But it’s the quality of light which really makes the place special for me, and this is a large part of what draws so many photographers here. I’ve been out with customers in some pretty challenging weather, but these conditions are the ones which often provide those brief moments of dramatic light. It’s all about being in the right place at the right time, and this is what we specialise in.”

Adam Bulley
  • Pro - 9 years
  • Guide for Edinburgh workshops and all levels of landscape services

Adam Bulley has been a professional photographer shooting both stills and video for the past few years.

Adam is an accomplished musician. He started out shooting music videos and promo images, but his love for dramatic landscapes came to the fore when he moved to Scotland in 1998. He spends much of his time researching and exploring for new locations. His unique viewpoints have appeared on the cover of the Scots Magazine and been used by Visit Scotland all over the world.

“Living in Edinburgh for the past few years has allowed me to get under its skin and learn the secrets to photographing it successfully. With so many potential subjects and so many viewpoints of each subject, there’s more than enough to keep any photographer happy. I enjoy taking customers to the less obvious locations, but also appreciate that many also want to get the classic shots too. There’s nothing wrong with a classic as long as it’s done well.”
